We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Host / Pou Tiaki.

The role of the Pou Tiaki is to be the friendly and welcoming face at our Kōraunui hub providing information and support to our customers and community. You'll be the connection between us and the customers, assisting with a variety of things from school holiday programmes, arts and culture, community focused events and functions, basic library duties, general enquires and other fun and challenging duties.

Our Neighbourhoods & Communities group works with the community to realise its full potential. Maintaining active and vibrant networks, both within Council and across our shared spaces, our Neighbourhoods & Communities group aims to enhance the impact of our collective efforts for the communities we serve.

About You

We are looking for an innovative and community focused person with a can-do attitude and passion for developing and supporting library programmes and hub services. You will have an outstanding customer service and community-led development ethos, with the ability to work alongside a diverse range of people of all ages and from every part of our community.

Working with our team, you'll have a variety of different responsibilities working alongside children and adults. We are seeking someone who embraces biculturalism and cultural diversity, has confidence dealing with a wide range of customer groups, is confident using technology and recognises their own strengths and areas that require development.

Come join us at Hutt City Council where our work is forging strong foundations for the future of our diverse and growing community and creating an environment where everybody thrives. Tūhono mai. Come join us.
